I lived in a sizable house that had a recent do-up, featuring new appliances and a good bathroom-to-tenant ratio. The rent was appropriate for the great suburb and proximity to Vic University, though it gets drafty during high Wellington winds, and parking is only available on the street for a fee. The landlord is responsive when approached directly, but the house often has to run itself. Overall, the area is fantastic, with a somewhat modern interior, but moving stuff around can be a pain due to the steep and narrow path to the house.
