Direct feedback from previous tenants

I totally agree with previous tenants that both landlords promise everything when you're interested in signing, but after that, they don't deliver. They promised to clean the curtains every three months and provide electrical appliances, but nothing happened after I signed. The so-called unlimited power is misleading since we're not allowed to use our own heater, and the one provided turns off after an hour, leaving us cold in winter. While the location is great, the landlords are incredibly annoying and only complain about their high power bills, which is frustrating given the amount we pay. Think twice before signing, as everything promised will not be delivered.

The house is fitted with most furniture and appliances, but they feel very cheap, likely from the warehouse. The dryer takes over three hours to dry anything properly, and the wall heater is pretty useless as it doesn't produce much heat. While the landlord responds quickly, it takes a while for them to address any issues. The best part is the location, as it's close to uni, but the expensive rent combined with the cheap appliances is definitely a downside.
The house is semi-furnished with a bed, study table, cupboard, and whiteware, but keep in mind that internet and power are not included in the rent. The landlord is responsive, though a bit forgetful. The best part about living here is the privacy, but it is also quite expensive.
The house is warm, shared with just two other tenants, and gets plenty of sun during the day. Everything is provided and it's furnished, making it super close to the university. However, the landlords are unresponsive and unreliable when it comes to maintenance and cleaning, often skipping essential tasks. They can be friendly when you're signing up, but after that, they seem to lose interest, showing up unannounced and disregarding tenant needs, which is frustrating.
I've always found the landlords at 15 Ethel to be very responsive and friendly; they even put our rubbish bins out on rubbish day! The building is new and warm, with hardly any maintenance issues, although I think some international students might be surprised by the realities of flatting. While the internet was slow initially, it’s now unlimited, and although the cleaning could be better, it's more than adequate. The best part is the closeness to uni, but the noisy neighbours can be a downside.
I love my studio room here; it's incredibly well-kept and regularly maintained, never cold thanks to the heating. It's a quiet place to study and sleep, conveniently close to the University and Polytechnic. While there was some outside noise from temporary construction earlier this year, the landlords have always been polite and responsive to any issues. The building is beautiful, though I do occasionally hear noise from the tenant below.
I had a great experience living in this flat. The landlord was good, and the best thing about the place was its close proximity to the university. Honestly, there was nothing I could complain about.
The best thing about this flat is its proximity to the university, but the experience is heavily overshadowed by the landlord, who has been absolutely terrible since taking over in 2013. They neglect maintenance and repairs, make snarky remarks, and frequently barge in for "inspections" and "repairs." The included internet is ridiculously slow, and they refuse to improve it because they won't pay more than $50 for it.
I absolutely loved this flat! It has so much character and, despite being old and sometimes cold, it truly felt like home. The landlord was reliable and friendly, quickly fixing any issues that arose. The big room, balcony, and sunny front steps were fantastic, though it did get very cold in winter, and the downstairs room received no sun. Overall, it has been a great home for the past year!
I loved living in this flat for two years; it has a great location and plenty of character with its two levels and a bathroom on each. The rooms vary in size, and while the living room and kitchen are small, they comfortably accommodate all six of us. The bright blue living room is a standout feature, and having a cat flap was a bonus since we could house an orphaned cat. However, the flat isn't soundproof and can be quite cold, and while our landlord is easy to deal with, he was slow to address some issues, like the promised double-glazed windows.
The house has a great location and interior, and it's well insulated, keeping it very warm even in winter. I appreciated having a cleaner come in once a week to tidy up the bathrooms and communal areas. The landlord was great, though I should note that the landlord has changed since I stayed.
The house has good sized rooms, two bathrooms, and a pretty exterior that even attracts strangers taking photos. The landlord is a friendly guy, though he can be a bit slow to get things done. The best part about the flat is definitely the location, but the worst is the roof leak that creates a mini waterfall, which is not ideal. Also, there's a cat flap, so you can bring your own cat.
