The best thing about the flat was the room size, but I had a terrible experience with the landlord, who seems to just want to make money off tenants. Be cautious, as he will take all your bond at the end of the year for things that don’t need to be done, so take pictures of the flat before moving in—he will rob you! Overall, the costs were a major downside.

The flat is in a good location and has been well maintained, likely because the landlord uses our bond to improve the property and raise the rent. However, my experience with the landlord was terrible; I don't expect to get any of my bond back since he took it all for himself while enjoying his annual holiday in Wanaka. Despite keeping the flat clean all year, he spent a ridiculous amount on cleaning and was unreachable while playing golf with his wealthy friends. Overall, it's a nice clean place, but the landlord is definitely the worst part of the experience.
The house is clean and semi-modern, but it's much too small for five people, and the downstairs bedroom is damp and cold. The landlord takes your bond without explanation and doesn't follow the legal requirements for filing it with the tenancy tribunal, which allows him to unfairly charge for cleaning and then retile the kitchen. While the place is warm and semi-modern, the small size and issues with the landlord are significant drawbacks.
