The house has zero insulation, making it incredibly cold and drafty, with a $350 electric bill in June to prove it. The landlord is great—very responsive and friendly—quickly addressing issues like our broken fridge and washing machine and the yellow water from the kitchen tap. Unfortunately, aside from the landlord, everything else about the flat is lacking, from the lack of sunlight to the constant chill that often makes it colder inside than outside.

The house has large bedrooms and a sunny lounge, making it great in summer and conveniently close to uni. However, it’s often cold and damp, with mould forming in the bathroom and on items left under the bed or in the wardrobe. The landlord was polite and quick to respond to repair requests, but they tried to stop us from having a small party and offered tips on managing the damp despite us already addressing the issue. Overall, while the space is nice, it feels overpriced given the persistent cold and damp conditions.
