Tauranga Flats

Tauranga's neighbourhoods stretch around the harbour, coastal suburbs and a small number of busy transport corridors. A flat in the city centre, Mount Maunganui, Arataki, Pāpāmoa, Gate Pā or Welcome Bay can produce a very different daily trip even when the map distance looks manageable.

Traffic congestion is a recognised city-wide issue, so test the journey when you would actually make it. Check the Bayhopper timetable, parking situation and safe walking or cycling connections before treating cheaper rent as a saving. Coastal exposure also makes it worth checking window seals, ventilation and where wet gear will dry.
