The house has the downside of being up a big hill, and the heaters in the bedrooms are very expensive to run. However, the best thing about it is that it gets all day sunshine, which I really enjoy.

The kitchen is well set up, but the dining area feels cramped, and the living room is often too cold. Water pressure is poor, and we had a mice problem. The landlord was mostly overseas, which left us stranded at times, and while she can be friendly, her demands are often unreasonable. The place is over-furnished with junk left behind, making the living room unusable until we cleared it. On the plus side, it’s furnished with all the necessities, but the Cargill St hill is a killer—I would have preferred to flat elsewhere or have a car.
I lived in a beautiful old house called "Stranrae," surrounded by lovely plum and fruit trees, with a wonderful front lawn and garden perfect for entertaining. The massive rooms made it feel super homely, but the kitchen was cold and dark. While the landlords were fine, NIDD Realty was quite lax in responding to our queries and maintenance issues.
The flat itself was okay, but there were a few problems with the landlord that affected our quality of living. While she was generally okay, she was unreasonable when we tried to explain our side regarding issues like a small piece of plastic breaking off the washing machine. The best part was the location, which was close to town, but some dealings with the landlord were definitely the worst aspect.
The landlords were lovely people, but they didn't quite understand that it was our property during the lease, leading to a weird (but friendly) relationship when they stayed with us over the summer. The flat was full of character, being a classic 1900 stone home with good garden space and large bedrooms, making it beautiful on sunny days. However, the kitchen/lounge was incredibly dark with only two lights, and the upstairs shower leaked into the kitchen below. Additionally, the insulation was poor, with thin, draughty windows and curtains, making it a waste of money to use a heater since the warmth just escaped outside.
The house has its downsides, like poor water pressure and a slippery path to the front door when it's wet or icy. The landlord can be quite picky, especially about her white carpet, and she often pops in unexpectedly, even yelling at us for a few rubbish bags left outside. On the bright side, the upstairs bedrooms get all-day sun, which is a definite plus.
