Mt Cook, Wellington
The house is warm, furnished, and well looked after, providing everything you need at a cheap price without feeling crappy. However, the landlord is quite noisy, which can be a downside. Overall, it's a decent place despite the noise.
The flat came with basic furniture like a bed, desk chair, shelving, and wardrobe, but it was hard to tell what was provided by the landlord since there was no inventory. The courtyard design allowed for noise from below and from parties in other flats, which could be quite disruptive. While the communal washing facilities were a hassle and often damaged my clothes, the flat itself was surprisingly warm without any heating. The dedicated property manager was helpful with issues, though it was sometimes confusing whether to report problems to them or the landlord. Overall, the good sun and location were highlights, but the lack of acoustic insulation was definitely a downside.
