North Dunedin, Dunedin
The rent was $160 p/p (with a total of five tenants) when I was living there. Considering the location, and that it was probably one of the better flats in the area, $160 was a decent price. In saying that, you are surrounded by three other flats (one above, two beside) so it may not be worth $160 to everyone. The property was what you expect in a student flat, a bit of mould, holes in the walls, and general waste around. The carpets were way beyond their use, but were still acting as a floor. It definitely wasn't the worst condition, but could be improved. Flat was dry, occasionally warm (if the sun was out), but I didn't spend the winter months in the flat. I would imagine that during the winter it might be a little chilly, as with all flats, but when the sun was out and coming in the window it would be warm as. Property manager was the worst. Carried out an unnotified (and unlawful) inspection, and there was significant issues with the bond return. Not the worst but far from good
